I don’t like hornets. I don’t like the little ground nesting yellowjackets, or the larger aerial nesting yellowjackets, and those black and white bald-faced hornets give me the shivers–don’t like them at all. As a gardener, I’ve had more than my fair share of encounters with hornets, and more stings than I can count. I’ve had hornets in my pants–a lot of them, all at the same time, which is even less fun than it sounds. For all that, we’re pretty lucky here in Westsylvania, USA, the “first last best place” on the sweet side of the Appalachians, where mid-Atlantic meets Midwest. After all, we could live in Japan, home of the Japanese Giant Hornet–and you thought that Godzilla thing was a joke!
“Nope” is for damn sure. Not a chance in hell.
