Godzilla Meme–Ain’t That Funny At All

8522069739_e3be0168d9_zI don’t like hornets.  I don’t like the little ground nesting yellowjackets, or the larger aerial nesting yellowjackets, and those black and white bald-faced hornets give me the shivers–don’t like them at all.  As a gardener, I’ve had more than my fair share of encounters with hornets, and more stings than I can count.  I’ve had hornets in my pants–a lot of them, all at the same time, which is even less fun than it sounds. For all that, we’re pretty lucky here in Westsylvania, USA, the “first last best place” on the sweet side of the Appalachians, japanese-giant-hornetwhere mid-Atlantic meets Midwest.  After all, we could live in Japan, home of the Japanese Giant Hornet–and you thought that Godzilla thing was a joke!

“Nope” is for damn sure.  Not a chance in hell.

About JunkChuck

Native, Militant Westsylvanian (the first last best place), laborer, gardener, and literary hobbyist (if by literary you mean "hack"). I've had a bunch of different blogs, probably four, due to a recurring compulsion to start over. This incarnation owes to a desire to dredge up the best entries of the worst little book of hand-scrawled poems I could ever dream of writing, salvageable excerpts from fiction both in progress and long-abandoned. and a smattering of whatever the hell seems to fit at any particular moment. At first blush, I was here just to focus on old, terrible verse, but I reserve the right to include...anything. Maybe everything, certainly my love of pulp novels growing garlic, the Pittsburgh Steelers and howling at the moon--both figuratively and, on rare occasions, literally.

  1. Hornets are no joke. We just had a yellow jacket nest removed from our balcony. NOPE indeed.
